Obituary of Leonard Hamann

HAMANN, Leonard “Lenny”, age 71, of Albany, died on June 14th, 2017 at Mother of Mercy Nursing Home in Albany, MN. He was born February 19th, 1946 to Bernard and Emma (Richter) Hamann. He was confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Farming, MN on June 26, 1960. He was married to Sharon Schultz on October 9th, 1979. Lenny loved to cook, play cards and sing. Lenny’s last position was at the Persian Supper Club. He contracted French Polio in 1983. He was in charge of the Senior Citizens Card Club for over 15 years. He was a lifetime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and sang in the choir for 23 years. Lenny sang karaoke at over 50 different venues, various senior functions and nursing homes. Sherry was his wife and soul mate for over 30 years and he often called her his “Guardian Angel”. Lenny is survived by his sister, Carol (Earl) Hoffman; many nieces and nephews; and good friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon (May 31, 1999); parents, Bernard and Emma; brother, Roger; and great niece, Krysta Mozena. Memorial Service 11am on Friday, June 23rd at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 23845 Co. Rd. 40, Farming township, MN. Visitation at church 1 hour before service. www.cremationsocietyofmn.com
