Obituary of Catherine K. Rogers

Catherine "Kay" K. Rogers, 84, of Duluth, passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at St. Luke's Hospital with her family by her side. Kay was born in Duluth, Minnesota on May 5, 1933 to Patrick and Catherine (O'Bey) Kelly. She graduated from Duluth Central in 1951 and was united in marriage to James Rogers in 1952. Kay worked as a bookkeeper and secretary for Hobart Sales and Service along with Holy Cross Catholic Church in Norton Park. She was an avid Minnesota sports fan and enjoyed reading a good book. Kay also enjoyed playing cards with family and neighbors and taking local bus trips. Most of all Kay loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were her pride and joy. She is preceded in death by her parents; brother Larry Kelly and sister Patricia Engen. Kay is survived by husband James of 65 years; son James (Tina), daughter Julie (Tom) Lund; grandchildren, Amy, John, Kathy and Jim; 2 great-granddaughters Macy and Ellie as well as many close friends. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and staff at Lakeshore Rehabilitation as well as the doctors and nurses who took such good care of her at St. Luke's Hospital.
