Obituary of Jeffrey D. Briggs

Jeffrey D Briggs, 64, of West Saint Paul, passed away on Monday, June 19, 2017 at home with his family by his side. Jeff was born in Willmar, Minnesota on September 20th, 1952 to Phyllis Johnson and Roland Briggs. He graduated from Sibley High School in 1970 and married Susanne Briggs (Warzecha) in 1972. Jeff was devoted to helping young adults achieve a high school education. He did this by mentoring and working to start charter schools such as City Academy in Saint Paul. He enjoyed cake decorating, ceramics, and woodworking. Most of all Jeff loved spending time with his family and grandchildren, who were his pride and joy. He is preceded in death by his parents Roland Briggs, and Phyllis (Jim) Johnson. Jeff is survived by wife Susanne of 45 years; sons Anthony (Angela), Richard (Beth), Thomas (April); grandchildren, Elizabeth, Hailie, Victoria, Lily, Colten, Amelia, Kaylynn, Mason; brother Cal, sister Camehle (Bruce) Baron, as well as many family and friends.
