Obituary of LeRoy A. Melton
LeRoy A. Melton, 52, of Solon Springs, Wisconsin, would like all to know that his handyman work is done. He received his last call with his wife and children by his side on Friday, June 23, 2017. Retiring to a wonderful place of nonstop fishing, hunting, having daily conversations with dad, and napping to his heart's content.
Roy was born on September 25, 1964 in Shell Lake Wisconsin, to Alonzo and Patricia Melton. He was a graduate of St. Croix High School, Solon Springs, Wisconsin, where he met and survived by Judy, the love of his life for 29 years, and his two wonderful children Charissa (Brett) Nelson, and Brandon (Cortnie) Melton. He will be forever missed by his three grandchildren, Briar, Eilley, and Arden, given that "Umpi" was their hero. Roy had an infectious grin, a sweet tooth, and a laughter that would light up a room. His comfort of watching God's creatures from his window with Judy and naming each one was a past time that he enjoyed thoroughly. But, the love he had for his family was the most important part of his life, and will never be forgotten.
A "Jack of all trades" Roy worked several years at Grumman Boats, ABC Rail, Burns Best, St. Croix Inn, and was very grateful for the hours working with his brother Dave and recent work with the Sanitary District.
He will always be loved and cherished by his mother, Patricia Melton, Solon Springs, Wisconsin; sisters; Lesa Melton, Springbrook, Wisconsin, and Ann (Ted) Duzansky, Crestview, Florida, brothers; David (Jennifer) and Scott Melton, Solon Springs, Wisconsin, and Jeff Melton, Orlando, Florida, as well as Father-in-Law Donald Hanson, Sister-in-Law Barb Parzych and many uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Alonzo, and mother-in-law, MaryAnn Hanson of Solon Springs, Wisconsin.
The family would like to thank the staff of Essentia Health and St. Mary's Hospice, Duluth, Minnesota for their care and support of making him comfortable and allowing his family to take him home one last time. The Cremation Society of Minnesota is assisting with arrangements.
LeRoy's family wishes to celebrate his life at his place of employment, Sunday, July 9, 2017, from noon to 3 at the St. Croix Inn, Solon Springs, Wisconsin.
