Obituary of Arthur F. Hansen

Arthur "Art" F. Hansen, 89, of Duluth died unexpectedly at home Monday, June 26, 2017. He was born August 19, 1927 to Herbert and Victoria (Kupczynski) Hansen in Iron River, MI. He attended Central High School and after serving in the Air Force from 1944 -1945 he received his G.E.D. He married Jeanne Ross on July 31, 1954. Art worked in the building supplies business for 40 years. His greatest joy was his daughter, son and grandchildren, and he was always there for them. He enjoyed card games and the music of the 50s and 60s. Art liked children and dogs, and they liked him. He worked hard and was always willing to help others. He was a member of the Proctor Moose 1302, Owls Club, Lake Avenue Lousy's, Teamster 346 Retirees Club. Art delivered Meals on Wheels for many years and drove cancer patients to appointments. He was a caring person and his family will miss his sense of humor and the funny songs he would sing. Preceding him in death are his parents, sisters Alice Sink, Betty Messervey and infant sister Irene, brothers William Hansen and Richard Hansen. Art is survived by his wife Jeanne, daughter Kim (Jim) Stein, Duluth, son Kevin (Sheila) Hansen, Hudson, WI, Grandchildren Anna Hansen, Paige Stein, Erin (Shawn) Phillips, Kelly Stein, great grandchildren Dillon and Ethan Phillips, brothers James (Ruth) Hansen and Thomas Hansen both of Duluth, and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Dr. Craig Gilbertson for his excellent care over the years. No services will be held, per Art's wishes. To celebrate his life, raise a glass of your choice to Art for a life well livedsome of his favorites were a cold glass of milk, a whiskey charge, or good ole Duluth water.
