Obituary of Mary Kathryn McCulloch

age 66, of Minnetonka passed away June 27th, 2017. Preceded in death by parents, Harry Nibert Jr. and Leona Nibert; brothers, John and Michael. Survived by loving and devoted husband of 47 years, Joseph; children, Michael (Stephanie), Sarah (Kris), and Caitlin (Aaron); and grandchildren, Oskar, Ingrid, Zeke, Elvira, and George; and many other friends. Kathy was born in Huntington, West Virginia, and moved at a young age with her family to Taylor, Michigan, where she attended high school. She earned her Bachelors of Science degree from Eastern Michigan University, where she met Joe. They attended a Rolling Stones concert on their first date and were married less than a year later in 1970. Joe and Kathy moved their family to Minnesota in 1975, where she became a graduate of University of Minnesota's Medical School in 1986, and finished her residency in Internal Medicine as Chief Resident in the summer of 1990. She began practicing at Hennepin Faculty Associates immediately following her residency and earned her ACP Fellowship in 2002. She was loved dearly by her colleagues and patients alike, often being recognized around the cities by her patients, who would stop to chat and thank her for her advocacy and care. In loving memory of Kathy, a memorial service will be held Saturday, July 8, 2017, at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 7110 France Ave S., Edina, MN (952) 924-4100. Visitation at 10 AM, service at 11 AM, and a reception will follow.
