Obituary of Peggy Dawn Hansen
Peggy Dawn Hansen, 63, formerly of Kenosha, WI, late of Minneapolis, MN, died at her home on June 28, 2017.
Born August 14, 1953, in Kenosha, she was the daughter of the late John W. and Lorraine (Fetzer) Hansen. She graduated from Bradford High School, Kenosha, in 1971, and had attended UW-Parkside.
Peggy was a bright light and a force of nature with grand sense of humor and a charming smile. She was a talented artist and calligrapher. She hand-lettered thousands of invitations and signs with her decorative flair. She had previously worked in Minneapolis at the Maslon Law Firm, City Pages and Norm’s Drycleaners; and at Girl Scout Camps – Camp Pottawatomie Hills in East Troy, WI, and Camp Ehawee in Mindoro, WI.
Surviving are her sister, Linnea (Dennis) Gabe, Greene, IA; brother, John F. (Jennie) Hansen, of Kenosha, WI; sister-in-law, Ruth Harker, Kenosha, WI; nieces and nephews, dear friends, and beloved cat, Jada.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Robert Harker; a sister, Nancy Retzinger; twin siblings at birth; and nephew, Shawn Hartnek.
Private services will be held.
