Obituary of Laurence W. Littau
Littau, Laurence W. "Larry" Littau, born May 30, 1932, passed away June 30, 2017. Larry was born and raised on "a small island" (Manhattan), proudly attended Stuyvesant High School and obtained degrees in chemistry from City College of New York, Brandeis University, and The Pennsylvania State University. Larry met his wife Sara (Bennett) at Penn State, where he won her heart over ice cream at The Creamery, and they begain a 57 year marriage full of love & friendship, and many shared hobbies; including travel, rock collecting and lapidary work. Larry started his career as an analytical chemist at DuPont. A born teacher with an infectious love of learning, he spent many years teaching college chemistry at Monmouth College, Queen's College, and J.C. Smith University. Larry's keen wit, his sense of humour and his sense of fairness, his generosity and loving kindness, his loyalty and his great enthusiasm for life, made him an inspiration to many, as well as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Larry is survived by wife Sara; daughters Karen (Keith) Mohler and Cheryl; granddaughters Alena, Alison, and Gillian. He is preceded in death by his mother Sadie; father Harry; and brother Alan.
