Obituary of James J Potts

James J. Potts went home to God on January 7, 2023. Jim was born on Dec. 3, 1927, the youngest of 6 children, to John and Agatha (Bennet) Potts. He served his country for 2 years in the Army. Jim married the love of his life JoAnn Low in 1951.  Together they raised 5 children whom Jim loved dearly.  A saintly man of faith, Jim was the beloved proprietor of the Religious Art Center in downtown St. Paul for 45 years.  He and JoAnn were mainstays of St. Joan of Arc church for many years.  Jim was passionate about gardening, fishing, and volunteering at St. Joan’s.

Jim is survived by his wife of 71 years (JoAnn), his children – Stan (Linda), Jerry, Ken (MaryPat), Chris (Larry), and Carol.  His 9 Grandchildren – Melissa, Briana, Michael, Michaela, Kevin, Elizabeth, Cat, Sam and Jozie, and 8 Great-Grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents and 5 siblings.  The Funeral Mass will be at St. Joan of Arc in Minneapolis on Saturday, January 21 at 11:00 AM, with Visitation at 9:30 AM.  Lunch will follow.  Jim will be greatly missed.
