He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law, Fred King. He is survived by siblings Arthur (Caroline) Nead, Margaret Nead King and Julia Nead, all of New Orleans; brother-in-law Michael (Donna) Smith of Mission Viejo; his nieces Caroline Somerville Nead and Theresa (Anton) Geurts and nephew Matthew (Kelly) Smith; a grandnephew and two grandnieces; and his wife of 44 years, Deborah Smith.
