Obituary of Karen Marie Mundahl

Karen Marie Mundahl, 72, of Burnsville, formerly of St. Paul, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2023, in her home after a battle with lung cancer. Karen was born in St. Paul in the summer of 1950. She attended St. Paul Monroe High School and graduated in 1968. She completed one year of vocational school before beginning her career as a secretary. She was married to her husband, Bruce, for 50 years. Karen was an avid shopper and loved to decorate her loved ones' homes with interior design. She loved to travel and enjoyed spending time outside of Minnesota winters. Karen loved to cook and bake, especially around the holidays. 

Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Helen; brother, Thomas; sister, Judy; and beloved pug Boo. She is survived by her husband, Bruce; two sons, Sean (Kristilyn) and Mark; brothers, Richard (Sherry) and James (Donna); one grandchild, Emersyn; several nieces and nephews; and friends. 

A Memorial Service will be held at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 13801 Fairview Dr, Burnsville, MN 55337, on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at 11 am. The visitation will begin at 10 am and there will be a luncheon following the service. A private family service will take place at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society and the Animal Humane Society.
