Obituary of June Annette Lindberg

June Annette Lindberg, 92, of Hermantown, went to be with her beloved husband, Sparky on Monday, July 10, 2017 at Golden Oaks of Hermantown. June was born in Duluth on January 17, 1925 to Ralph and Emma (Wangen) Matthews. She was a graduate of Denfeld High School and married Bernard "Sparky" Lindberg in 1946. Aside from raising her family, June worked for several area businesses including serving as a secretary for Mr. Edgel of Edgel Communications. She was also a long time member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church. June enjoyed spending time at the family cabin on Big Grand Lake where the competition was on for the biggest fish. Later in life, she enjoyed spending time with her husband at the Evergreen Senior Center where she would make crafts and play cards. Most of all, June enjoyed the company of her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. June was preceded in death by her husband Bernard "Sparky" Lindberg and brothers Ralph and Ted Matthews. She is survived by children Patrick (Linda) Lindberg and Kathy (Stu) Lofald; grandchildren Erin Lindberg, Caleb (Cindy Willie) Lofald, and Katie (Eric) Borndal; great-grandchildren, Aspen Lindberg, William Lofald and Mya, Kale and Dane Borndal; sisters-in-law, Elsie Matthews, Jerry Hull and Elaine Berry as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff and caregivers at Edgewood Vista and Golden Oaks. Gathering of family and friends will be held from 2 pm until the 3 pm memorial service on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at Cremation Society of Minnesota 4100 Grand Ave. Duluth, MN.
