Obituary of Martha Jeanne Wing

Martha Wing, 72, passed away peacefully with family by her side, Monday, July 31, 2017. Martha was born in Washington D.C. on February 27, 1945 to Barb and Jim Wing. Though Martha had challenges from her first breath, she took everything life threw at her and fought until the very end. We all could learn from her on overcoming obstacles with such strength and dignity. Martha always had a compliment and a "Hi, my friend" for everyone she met. She was an inspiration to anyone who crossed her path and will be missed by many. Martha loved rug hooking, camping with her parents, all types of music, singing, dancing, bowling, coloring, playing card games, shopping (she really liked shopping!), and going out for lunch. She so loved children and had an infectious personality that drew them to her. During her life Martha worked for Goodwill Industries and UDAC, retiring from UDAC last year. She is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her brothers, Bill Wing and Mickey (Debbie) Wing; her nephew, Aaron Wingand niece Julie (Rick Long Jr) Wing; her great-nephew, Ricky Long III; her RSI Hartley family; and many friends. Martha's family would like to extend a special thanks to the nursing staff at St Lukes ICU and Hospice for their excellent care and taking the time to explain so much to us; to Dr Debrah LaBarre MD, for her years of care and support in treating Martha for her multiple health issues; and to all the staff, at RSI Hartley and UDAC, past and present, who made daily living enjoyable for Martha. A gathering of friends and family from 9 a.m. until the 10 a.m. memorial service Thursday, Aug. 10th in the Cremation society of Minnesota Chapel, 4100 Grand Ave., 218-624-5200.
