Obituary of Carolyn Dawn Gill

Carolyn Dawn Gill, known to everyone as “Dawn,” passed away peacefully in her home at Harmony River Senior Living, December 24, 2022, in Hutchinson, Minnesota. She was 86 years young. Dawn battled with Alzheimer’s Disease for many years. She is now with her husband and son until the rest of us meet with her again. A small gathering of immediate family will be held at her daughter and son-in-law's home January 21, 2022. Dawn’s and her husband’s remains will be taken to Fort Snelling Cemetery in Minnesota when the weather is warm like how they loved it. There will be a Military funeral in honor of Eldens service in the United States Army and both will be laid to rest. If anyone wants to join the family in the spring at Fort Snelling, let Dawn’s family know and they will give you a date when known.

Dawn was born August 25, 1936, in Hollywood-Los Angeles, California, to Harry and Daisy Hall. She grew up in the Los Angeles area most of her life. This is where she met her husband and where they married in 1954. Dawn and Elden had two children; Alan and Susan. They moved to Orange County where they raised the two children. Elden and Dawn retired and moved to Oro Grande (Barstow area) California on their twenty acres, until Dawn moved out to Minnesota in 2012.

Dawn worked in banking her entire working career. She always had a smile on her face and loved life and her family more than anything. She loved spending time by their pool and hanging out with their dogs. She truly enjoyed when her family came out, and we all would ride in the sand rails (dune buggies) all over the desert. Elden would grill for us all, and she would get everything else together. She was so loved by everyone that met her. Dawn always had a beautiful and warming smile.

Preceding Dawn in death were her parents Harry and Daisy Hall (Wait), parent in laws Alfred and Lara Gill (step father Julius Wolff), husband Elden Clarence, son Alan Dale, sister Wanda Brooks and her husband Richard Brooks and sister and brother in laws, Ida, Patricia, Melvin, Norma, and Vaughn.

Dawn is survived by her daughter, Sue Lambertson (husband Gary) of South Haven, MN, granddaughters Melinda Jordan (husband Robert) of Litchfield MN, Caryn Kuns (husband Aaron) of Elk River MN, grandsons Gary Lambertson (wife Yvette) of Prescott AZ, David Lambertson (wife Breanne) of Lake Havasu AZ.

Ten great grandchildren and twelve great-great grandchildren and one on the way. Sister-in-law Lea Walker, nieces, nephews, and many more.

The family of Dawn would like to thank everyone for their thoughts, prayers and kindness in this time of sorrow. Our wish is that you take the love, joy, and happiness you received from Dawn and spread it to those who have touched your lives.
