Marilyn Putney

Obituary of Marilyn Ann Putney

Marilyn Ann (Darling) Putney of Barnum, MN was born October 16, 1938 and left us to hang with Jesus on December 26, 2022 at the age of 84.
After graduating from Barnum High School, Marilyn married Gene Putney, Sr. on October 12, 1957. They gave each other a run for their money for 58 adventurous years until Gene's death in 2016.
Marilyn loved many things including writing, gardening, dancing, card games, singing, cooking, scrabble, story telling, puzzles and music. Her devotion to the Heavenly Father was of upmost importance. Attending Bible studies and church services brought Marilyn great pleasure. Not one to turn down an adventure, Marilyn would agree to go on any trip or to any event, often times to be the voice of reason.
Love for her friends and family was Marilyn's greatest joy in life. Time spent having coffee and talking was always deeply treasured.
Marilyn will be most missed for her loving and caring ways. Being quick to lend a helping hand and a shoulder for support were cherished qualities that she possessed in abundance.
Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents, Virginia and Merrill Darling, husband, Gene Putney, Sr, daughter, Raynegail Putney and sister, Bernadette Parker.
She is desperately missed by her first-rate sons, Gene (Delaine) Putney and Jay (Brenda) Putney, her marvelous daughter, Marilyn (Jerome) Youngberg, her nine fantastic grandchildren, her 16 sensational great grandchildren, many terrific nieces, nephews, and numerous outstanding friends; also 3 squeaky guinea pigs.

A Celebration of Life for Marilyn Putney will be held on January 14, 2023 at the Barnum Senior Center in Barnum, MN. The event will be kicked off by a prayer at 11:00 followed by lunch and laughter.
