Christine McMahon

Obituary of Christine Sheryle McMahon

Christine Sheryle McMahon (born Padelford) died peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, December 4th, 2022. A resilient survivor through 73 years of death-defying adventure, she spent much of her last year battling numerous health challenges, doggedly and successfully fighting to get back home to her family, especially her "Dorky" dog, Forrest. She was preceded in death by her mother, Muriel McMahon, her biological father, Thomas Trost, and her brother, Timothy Trost. She is survived by her dad, James McMahon; children, Renee I. Hauwiller and Thomas J. Hauwiller, her loving partner, Larry Windish; her sisters Colleen Corcoran, Patty Ann Wicklander, Michelle Hanson, Peggy McMahon, Elaine McMahon, Mutzie Adams, Julie Trost-May, Lorena Trost DeJoode, Alayna Braziel; brothers: Thomas M. Trost, Dan Trost, Ron Trost, Paul Trost, Frank McMahon; grand-children Jacob, Samantha, Jessica, Madeline, Grace, Charlene, Lillian, Emmett, and Lucy, and great-grand-children Eris and Xander. She also leaves behind numerous partners to the above, and cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles, and many friends. After a free-spirited first half of her life, raising children and getting into trouble, she settled into a more-ordinary career with MN Dept. of Transportation, and a little house with a big yard in North St. Paul, MN. She shared her home with Larry and several cats and dogs over the years. She retired in her early 60s to her back yard garden and Farmtown farm on Facebook and made hundreds of new friends that way, too. She spent much time with her grandchildren, of whom she was most proud. We will have a memorial and celebration of her life on Dec. 31st at White Bear Unitarian Universalist Church, 328 Maple St., Mahtomedi, MN 55115. Service starts at 10:30, with a lunch reception to start at 12:30.
