Obituary of Judy Ann Coda
Judith “Judy” A. Coda lost her battle with cancer on Monday, December 5, 2022, at Miller Dwan Hospital in Duluth, MN. Judy was born on September 22, 1944, in Superior, WI to Dewey W and Jeanette (Boutin) LaJoie. On January 11, 1964, Judy married the love of her life, Richard “Dick” Coda and they enjoyed 51 years of marriage before Dick’s passing in 2015.
Judy and Dick owned & operated DJ & J Supply in Maple, WI, for 30 years.
Judy and Dick raised their family on a farm in Maple, where besides the daily farming operations Judy gardened and spent many hours canning the fruits of her labor. Judy was involved in the local 4H chapter and volunteered often at her children’s schools. After Dick passed away, Judy enjoyed spending time with her many friends playing smear, bunko, and bingo. Judy’s children often joked that they needed to schedule an appointment to see her as her schedule was always so full.
Judy is survived by her four children Wendy (Brian) Stauty, Maple, Renee (Thad Chergosky) Coda, Cambridge, MN, Tracy (Dennis) Paquette, Baldwin, WI, Joe (Tracy) Coda, Osceola, IN: fifteen grandchildren (Adam, Emily, Cole, Bailey, Ben, Alexa, Joe, Katlin, Valarie, Jamie, Phil, Lora, Dillon, Jordan, Michaela; eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild: two sisters, Beverly DeGraef and Patsy Marshall and many nieces and nephews.
Judy was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and ten siblings.
