Obituary of Russell W. Papenhausen

Papenhausen, Russell W age 92, passed away August 8, 2018 at the Vets Home, Mpls. He proudly served in the Navy in WWII & Korean War. Fishing, hunting, and playing his stand-up bass in a number of bands were his passions. He loved time at the cabin with family and friends. Russ was known for his smile and quick comebacks. Whether you were "Tiger" or "Sunshine", you always walked away feeling very special. He made many friends in his time at the Vets Home, and greatly appreciated the people who made his time there entertaining and comfortable. Survived by loving wife of 70 years, Andree; son, Peter Papenhausen; daughters, Pamela Ashby (Edward) and Robin Carlson (Jeff); 4 grandchildren, Zach, Noelle, Breanna, Caleb; 7 great-grandchil-dren. Memorial Service Monday Aug. 20 at Veterans Home Chapel (Bldg 19), 5101 Minnehaha Ave., Mpls. Visitation at 10:30 AM, Service at 11 AM luncheon buriel to follow at Fort Snelling Natl. Cemetery.
