Obituary of Stanley Oscar Wuolle

Stanley Oscar Wuolle, 94, of Hermantown, died at home surrounded by his loved ones on Monday, August 28, 2017. He was born in Duluth to Fina Davidson and Oscar Wuolle on November 26, 1922. Stanley served in the 91st Calvary Division in the Army during World War II. After his discharge he went on to serve in the Navy. Hazel Hadselford was the love of his life. They married and had a daughter, Riki. Stan worked as a printer all of his working career at Stewart Taylor in Duluth, and then went on to work at Hennepin Press in Minneapolis. Even though Stan was an avid speed skater, he was one of the founders of Pee Wee hockey in Piedmont. While living in Zimmerman MN he became the commander of the American Legion Post #91 where he led the effort to honor the sailors that served on the ship Liberty by constructing a park in Zimmerman in their name. Stan is survived by his wife Hazel Wuolle and daughter Riki McManus (Cary) and his furry friend Archie. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, September 6 at 3:00 pm at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4100 Grand Avenue, Duluth, with a visitation one hour prior.
