Obituary of Cooper Jens Erickson

Cooper Jens Erickson, age 17, lifelong resident of Duluth, passed away Thursday, August 9, 2018 at Essentia Health with his family at his side. He was born June 22, 2001 in St. Paul to Ken Erickson III & Cari (Marczak) Erickson. Cooper attended Hermantown High School. He was very passionate about the outdoors, hunting and fishing, but also enjoyed video games. Cooper was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, John J. Marczak. He is survived by his loving parents, Ken & Cari; brother, Kyler; maternal grandmother, Patti McPhail and paternal grandparents, Ken and Char Erickson, Jr.; his Godparents, Mike & Pam Erickson, as well as many other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. The family would like to thank Dr. Joey Rexine, and the CICU & PICU staff at Essentia for going above and beyond in the care of Cooper. Gathering of family and friends from 2 p.m. until the 3 p.m. memorial service Friday, Aug. 17th in the Cremation Society of Minnesota Chapel, 4100 Grand Ave., Duluth.
