Obituary of Fred Hoelzel

Fred Hoelzel, age 80, of Plymouth, Minnesota, was welcomed into God's loving arms on September 8th. Preceded in death by parents, Fred and Margaret and infant daughter, Heather Jean. Fred is survived by Nancy his loving wife of 61 years; daughters, Claudia (Doug) and Shannon; sons, Richard and Kurt (Lori); grandchildren, Cory, Derek, Erin, Gavin, and Ruthie May; brothers, John (Ruth), Bob (Jan), and Bill (Mary). Many nieces, nephews, family and dear friends. Fred started his career in the Forest Service and loved working and living in the mountains of Colorado, Alaska, and Wyoming. When he and Nancy returned to Minnesota he started his real estate career which lasted 44 years helping hundreds of people buy and sell their dream homes. He enjoyed driving school bus for ISD #281. He had a true passion for traveling the world with Nancy and passing his love of skiing on to his children and grandchildren having been a National Ski Patrol for 30 years. Fred expressed his love of music by being a member of the Apollo Male Chorus of Minneapolis and singing in the church choir with Nancy where they have been members of Mount Olivet for 46 years. Visitation will be from 10-11am with service at 11 o'clock on Saturday, September 16th at Mount Olivet Lutheran Church in Plymouth with lunch following. Memorials preferred to Mount Olivet of Plymouth or Loaves and Fishes of Minneapolis.
