Obituary of David Addison Cooley

David Addison Cooley, 74 of Two Harbors, MN lost his battle with cancer on August 10, 2018 in his home surrounded by his children. He was born in Sturgeon Bay Wisconsin, and spent his childhood growing up in Rockland Michigan. Dave liked to brag and joke that he graduated seventh in his class. Keep in mind there were only seven seniors in his graduating class! After High School, Dave went on to serve four years in the U.S. Navy as a helicopter crewman of a Search and Rescue team during the Vietnam War achieving Rank of E-5. Returning home, he graduated from Northern Michigan University with a B.S. degree in Business Administration, Majoring in Marketing. Dave was an entrepreneur by definition and worked jobs from construction to logging equipment sales. In between, He owned and operated a charter fishing service out of Knife River, MN on his boat the Skeeter Lynn. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed trapping, hunting, fishing and target shooting. He spent his final years as a gold prospector looking for treasure in the deserts of Arizona and his homeland of Rockland. Dave was a friend to everyone he met and was loved by many. He was a jokester, a story teller, a dream chaser and a tireless adventurer. In the end he said that he had filled his bucket list. David is survived by his son David (Sylvia) Cooley, daughters Erica Cooley, Roberta (Dave) Campbell, Michelle Cooley, and Jacqui Cooley. his grandchildren Kelsey, Jenna, Zane, Hawken, Colton, Jaxyn and great granddaughter Leila. His sister Kathy Cramer and many more family members as well as loved ones. Military ceremony to be held in Rockland, MI 2019. Date to be determined and will be announced via his FaceBook page.
