Obituary of James Larson

James Larson (Jim) Born Feb. 7, 1937 Barrett, MN. Died September 11, 2017 in his home on Lake Osakis. Jim grew up in Browerville MN and graduated from Long Prairie High School in 1955. He married Glenna Hickey in 1957 and moved to Minneapolis where they and raised their 2 children, Linda and Rick. Since retirement, they have lived on Lake Osakis. Jim is survived by wife Glenna, children: Linda and her husband Tom Hamilton and son Richard and his wife Lynn. Grandchildren: Ricky (Melanie), Cassandra, Tony (Gretchen), Shawn (Marisol) and Kelly (Kent) Stevenson. Great-grandchildren Alexis, Chris, Cooper, Dylan, John , Miela, Brooklyn, Lincoln , Sylar, Ellianna, and his loyal dog Bandit. Preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy (Hill) and Viggo Larson. Jim worked at International Harvestor for 30 years then moved from the truck parts business to sell used trucks eventually forming his own business, Truckway,. His last working years were in Willmar and Fargo. He retired in 1998 to their cabin on Lake Osakis, close to where he and his wife grew up. He loved to travel and fish and was an avid supporter of the Vikings and the Lynx. A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, Sept. 17 at 2 pm at Leslie Community Church, with Pastor Greaver officiating. Accordian played by Mark Weber and Flute played bt Cassandra Hamilton.
