Obituary of Gene W. Thieling

Gene W. Thieling, 70, of Duluth, passed away Saturday, September 16, 2017 at St. Luke's Hospital. He was born September 27, 1946 in Moose Lake to Gilbert and Eileen Thieling. Gene was as a Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force, serving in Vietnam. He was an avid salesman from vacuums to car insurance and houses, spending the final years of his career at Easy Housing in Duluth. Gene was preceded in death by his wife, Susan in 1999; and his parents. He is survived by children, Chad (Sandy) Thieling, Marnee VanScoy and Jeremy (Michele) Thieling; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; his brother, Gerald Thieling; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Gathering of family and friends from 9 a.m. until the 10 a.m. memorial service Friday, Sept. 22nd in the Cremation Society of Minnesota Chapel, 4100 Grand Ave., 218-624-5200
