Obituary of Peggy J. Newgren

Peggy J. Newgren, age 62 of Duluth, passed away Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017 at Chris Jensen Health Center. She was born on Feb. 28 1955 to Harold and Katherine (Pollock) Newgren. Peggy graduated from Denfeld H.S. and went on to U.M.D. to receive her degree in Accounting. Her life's work was that of antiques. From the early days of endless rummage sales and swap meets to Flea markets and finally a booth in Father Time Antiques. Peggy will be missed by all the many friends she met along her journey of life. Her biggest joys in life were her family. She enjoyed her nieces and nephews very much. Always giving them special gifts from "junk land." Peggy always loved talking about how much fun she had with her cousins spending summers at the cabin on Park Point. She was a very generous person. Peggy never forgot birthdays or special occasions. She always sent cards, candy and/or gifts to all that touched her life. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Wayne, Richard, and Thomas; cousin, Lynn Pollock. She is survived by her brother, James (Sandy) of Hermantown; sister in-law, Peggy A. Newgren of Duluth; nephews, Robert, Gregory (Tiffany Winchenbach) and Daniel of Hermantown and niece, Shanon (Mike) Newgren-Murphy of Minneapolis; great-nieces Morgan and Gracie Murphy and great-nephew Tenzin Milin. She also leaves behind many beloved cousins, Don Silverness and Jackie Silverness of Duluth, Jeannie Ann Silverness of Ely, Greg Pollock, Cleo Pollock, Colleen Pollock and Dorren Pollock-Sax of the Twin Cities area. The family would like to send a special thank you to Chris Jensen for all the care and kindness they gave to Peggy. A celebration of life will be held on Fri., Oct. 6th from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4100 Grand Ave., 218-624-5200.
