Obituary of Wayne I. Goplen

Goplen, Wayne I. Sept. 17, 1924 - Sept. 25, 2017 Wayne served in the Army, 1277 Engineer Combat Battalion from 1943 1946 and took part in the invasion at Normandy. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Audrey; daughters, Linda (Bill) Nara and Jennifer Saxhaug; sister, Anita Nelson; 4 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; plus many nieces and nephews. For 50 years Wayne owned and operated Wayne's Service Station, 4745 Cedar Ave. So. by Lake Nokomis. With love and gratitude we want to thank the staff at Presbyterian Homes of Bloomington, HealthPartners Hospice, and the Minnesota Veterans Home, Minneapolis, who were so loving and compassionate in their care. Private interment Monday, October 2nd at 11:30 AM at the Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
