Obituary of Harvey Victor Anderson

Harvey V. Anderson, 90, of Duluth passed away Wednesday, September 27th 2017 in his home, one day short of his 91st birthday. He was born 1926 in Highland, WI to Anton and Mathilda (Fischer) Anderson. Harvey was owner/operator of L&H Automotive Machine Shop, and a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church where he was very active in many roles. He enjoyed golf, bowling, Bible studies, deer hunting, and working on classic antique cars. He also enjoyed travelling, which included multiple trips to New Zealand to visit his foreign exchange student "son" Chris Betty. Harvey was a skilled machinist and was always eager to help his children with many projects on their cars and homes. He was preceded in death by his first wife Lois (Plummer) Anderson in 1996, great grandson Luke Sorensen, and 9 brothers and sisters. Harvey is survived by his wife Edith (Krouse) Anderson; seven children, Keith (Claudia), Andrea (Bernie McGovern), Kurt (Jean), Kim (Kirk Sorensen), Kerry (Cindy), Karole, and Adrienne (Paul Bisping); step children, Bob, JoAnn, Trish and Katherine; 21 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren. Thank you to Dr. Gilbertson at P.S. Rudie, Ecumen Lakeshore, and St Luke's Hospice for assisting with Harvey's desire to be at home surrounded by his family. He and his smile will be missed by all. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, October 3rd at 11:00 AM at United Lutheran Church in Proctor, MN (formerly Bethlehem Lutheran) with a visitation at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to United Lutheran Church, 701 Third Ave., Proctor, MN 55810.
