Obituary of Richard Roy

Richard “Dick” Dale Roy, Age 87, of Golden Valley, MN passed away September 29, 2017. Enrolled member Minnesota Chippewa Tribe; White Earth Nation. Dick graduated from Mahnomen High School in 1947 and served in the U.S. Army; 82nd Airborne Division. Preceded in death by parents, Louis and Maria “Mary” (Oppegard) Roy; sister, Mavis Roy; nieces, Sharon Gordon, Cheryl Gordon, Tracy Roy Maki; great niece, Kristina Harrold, great-great niece, Lyssa Gordon and many relatives. Survived by sister, Lois Roy Harrold; brother, Martin (Pauline) Roy; sister, Gladys (Harold “Butch”) Gordon, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Special thank you to Interim Hospice (especially Sarah, RN) for making a challenging situation easier. Mass of Christian burial with military honors at St. Anne's Catholic Church, 204 County Road 4, Naytahwaush, MN on a later date. Rest easy Dick.
