Obituary of Lea Grinde
Lea Grinde, 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on September 29, 2017 in Buffalo, MN.
Lea was born on December 8, 1929, and grew up in Bismarck, ND with 11 brothers and sisters. As a young woman she worked at the Greyhound Bus Company where she met her husband, Larry Grinde, a Greyhound driver at the time.
In 1968, Lea and her family moved to Buffalo and built a house on Varner Lake. Lea then started her business “Lea’s Broasted Chicken” and owned and managed it for 20 years. She had many loyal Buffalo customers who made her business a great success.
Lea is survived by her 3 children: Carol (Peter) Soria of Encinitas, CA, Gary (Linda) Grinde of Ramsey, MN and Susan (Ron) Dauwen of Lemmon, SD; 5 grandchildren: Lana (Neil) Buckel, Sean Grinde, Gina (Ryan) Misfeldt, DeeDee Dauwen and Brad (Heather) Dauwen; 6 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Also surviving are her sisters and brothers: Dorothy Zander, Florence Thor, Roy (Cheryl) Doerr, Almer (Marlene) Doerr and Harold (Jackie) Doerr; and her sister-in-law, Bette Grinde.
Lea is predeceased by her husband, Larry; daughter, Debbie Condra; brothers and sister: Jake Doerr, Adolf Doerr, Reynold Doerr, Emil Doerr, Melvin Doerr and Theresa Koeller.
The family would like to thank Lea’s loving nurses and staff for their kind service and compassion at Lake Ridge Care Center, Lakeside Oasis, Cottagewood Assisted Living and the Guardian Angels Hospice services.
A celebration of life service will be held in Buffalo at a later date.
