Obituary of Kristen C. Schorr

Schorr, Kristen C., 48, of Minneapolis, passed on to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, October 02, 2017. She will be sadly missed by her children: Mandee, Jake, Matt, Zack, and Abby; father of children: Bill; sister: Jenny LaVelle; parents: Larry and Carol; and loving cat: Kittywompus; good friends and other family members. “Above all else, Kristen loved and adored her family. It was her world. She loved spending time with her 5 children, showering them with love and laughing with them. Kristen had a caregiving servants heart and was not at all selfish. Always more concerned with the needs and feelings of others above her own. She had an uncanny ability to read people and hear what they weren’t saying, always empathetic and encouraging, Kristen became a leader in all of her recovery circles. People were drawn to her, looked up to her and loved her. Although she lived a hard life, there really wasn’t a woman’s issue that she could not relate to, making her a gifted counselor at heart. Kristen’s personality was as down to earth as they come, with a great sense of humor and an infectious laugh. I respected the fact that she was fearless, not at all a people pleaser or sugar coater. Although she was only 4’11”, 100 lbs., “Woe to thee” who would come between her and her family. The feisty, rabid wolverine in her would unleash and “fill thine ears with colorful words and expressions of truth, slicing between bone and marrow” and leave you stone cold in your tracks. She didn’t care what anybody thought. I always loved that about her. Kristen was a devout Christian, so rejoice that her pain and suffering are over, and she is dancing and laughing with Jesus in Heaven. Your loving heart, feistiness, and infectious laugh will be missed. We love you and you’re in our hearts always. Until we meet again….” Visitation 2pm.
