Obituary of James Dubell

James Simon Dubell, 78, passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. Jim was born February 8, 1939 to Charles and Catherine Dubell. He had one brother, Ted (Marlene) Dubell who resides in Montana. After graduating from Duluth Central High School in 1957, he enlisted in the Coast Guard reserve where he proudly served for over 30 years. Jim joined the Coca-Cola company as a young man and stayed until his retirement in 1998. Like his father, Jim was a member of the masons, AAD Shriners, American Legion, and the Owl's Club. Jim's most cherished times, while he was with us, were the many family gatherings and meals shared with his family and friends. He was a man who loved fishing and spent many hours on the water with his family and friends. He also enjoyed reading, doing puzzles, German music and a cold beer. Jim is survived by his wife Jean; children, Rebecca (Tabor) Hanson, Kathrynne (Jacob) Dryke, Zachary Dubell; former wife Louise Dubell; step-children, Nancy Carlson, Jeffrey Johnson, Lynne (Jayson) Grover. Jim also had 10 grandchildren whom he said made life worth celebrating; Dalton, Kayla, Sydney, Stella, Maxwell, Simon, Josh, Danielle, Courtney, and Alex; great-grandson, Cooper. A celebration of life will be held at 11 am on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Family of God Lutheran Church, 4097 Martin Road, Homecroft. There will be a visitation one hour prior to service and a luncheon to follow.
