Obituary of Debra Jean Bruns

Bruns, Debra Jean Age 53, of Plymouth passed away unexpectedly on October 4, 2017. Preceded in death by mother, Reta Sorsveen. She will be dearly missed by her husband of 20 years, Grant; daughters, Jaimee (Jonathan) Alger, Tori Reck; father, Charles Sorsveen; brother, Steven ( Katherine) Sorsveen; Jaimee and Tori’s father, Mark Reck and her loving in-laws, extended family and friends. Deb was a caring, loving mother and wife. She put her family above all else and had a big heart for everyone who touched her life. Deb and Grant loved spending time at AJ Acres seasonal campground in Clearwater, MN. Over the last 13 years, they spent almost every weekend there from mid-April through early October. They especially loved the social atmosphere of the campground, the many new friendships, and the relaxing back-to-nature feeling it provided. Deb, Grant, and family enjoy annual vacations to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. She was always counting down the days (literally, with an electronic day counter that was set as soon as camping season was over). It was her escape from the cold winter. She loved soaking up the sun by the ocean, trying new restaurants, and spending time with family. We will miss her love for her family, her empathy for everyone she knew, her kindness and unselfishness, and her willfulness of spirit. Her love for all dogs was unending and we rest easy knowing she will be reunited with her puppies forevermore. She will always be in our hearts. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, October 11th at 11am at Cremation Society of Minnesota, 7835 Brooklyn Blvd., Brooklyn Park with a visitation beginning at 10am. As a breast cancer survivor, Deb would have preferred memorials to the American Cancer Society.
