Donna Smalley obituary Donna Mary Jude (Rohweller) Smalley died Wednesday Oct 4, at her home in Minneapolis after a short Illness. She was 79 years old. The daughter of William Rohweller of New York Mills, MN and Isabelle Mitchell of Brooten MN. She was born at Minneapolis General Hospital on Nov 15, 1937. A graduate of Glenwood (MN) High School in 1955, Donna attended the University of Minnesota and received a Bachelors Degree in Education in 1958. On aug 16, 1958 she married her high school sweetheart, Jared Smalley. They moved to Perham MN in 1960, where her husband worked on the family newspaper, the Enterprise-Bulletin. While living in Perham, Donna did substitute teaching in the Perham School System. All three of the Smalley Children graduated from Perham High School and went on to college. Donna was active in St Henry’s Catholic Daughters and Christian Mothers and served on the Perham Library Board for a number of years. After the family moved to Minneapolis Donna worked for several retail stores and completed 15 years with Target Credit Services. Donna was passionate about life, pets and metaphysical conversations. She loved to spend time with her family, reading, traveling and enjoying any gastronomical adventure that she could go on. She was also an avid bridge player. Donna is survived by her husband of 59 years, Jared, and three children: Margeret Stacey of Minneapolis, Gregory Michael of Minneapolis, Gayle Marie Smalley-Rader (Don) of Faribault MN, one Grandson Nathan Littemi Smalley of Rosemount MN and a library of cookbooks. Private family services were held.
