Obituary of James John Westerberg

James John Westerberg, 32, of Cloquet, passed away on October 6, 2017 in Duluth. MN James was born in Cloquet to Glenn and Lynnell Westerberg on January 21, 1985. He graduated from Barnum High School in 2004. James worked at the Junction Oasis Truck Stop during high school until they closed. He then began working at the Mexico Lindo, currently known as Pedro's. In his younger years, James was active in ski jumping in Cloquet and competed there. He enjoyed a very active life of cliff jumping in his adult life and hiking, fishing, camping, canoeing, and photography. He loved taking pictures of all kinds and especially spending time with his kids and taking pictures of them. He had 2 beautiful Rottweilers (Appolo and Athena) that went on many of his hikes with him. James is preceded in death by his parents Lynnell and Glenn Westerberg; grandparents Edward and Edith Westerberg and Donald and Anne Olson. He also is preceded in death by his brothers Kenneth and Ernest Westerberg. James is survived by his children, Gracie Skog, Frederic, WI, Connor and Emily Blake, Moose Lake. His siblings Heather (Brittany) Westerberg, Carlton, Jason Westerberg, Linda (Daniel) Kaspszak, Clemence Westerberg, Susan (Richard) Noordhook, Donna Palmer, Dennis Westerberg, and Edward (Jody) Westerberg all of Barnum, Clifford (Speed) Westerberg, Mahtowa, Darlene (Ed) Madgziarz, Joyce Anderson, Sandra (Jim) Eaton all of Sturgeon Lake, Debbie Frehse, Brainerd, Bruce (Julie) Westerberg, Finlayson and many nieces and nephews, cousins that were like siblings, aunts and uncles. A Celebration of Life Service will take place Thursday, October 12 at 6pm at the Mahtowa Covenant Church in Mahtowa. The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to St. Lukes Hospital, Pastor Craig Johnson, his extended family at Pedro's and the many friends and family that have been there through this difficult time.
