Obituary of Harriet Selma Hoffrogge

Harriet Selma (Bode) Hoffrogge, age 88, formerly of Lamberton, MN, died Friday, October 6th, 2017 at her home at Eagan Pointe Senior Living in Eagan, MN. Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 14th, 2017 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Courtland, MN with visitation from 9:30 AM to11:00 AM at the church prior to the service. Lunch and fellowship to follow the service with a private burial in the Lamberton Cemetery. Harriet Selma (Bode) Hoffrogge, the second child of Gerhard and Agnes (nee Lange) Bode, was born January 21st, 1929 in Courtland Township Nicollet County Minnesota. Prior to marriage Harriet worked at the Union Hospital in New Ulm, MN. On June 27th, 1959, she married George Hoffrogge at Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Courtland. George and Harriet resided in Lamberton where they raised their two children and farmed in Johnsville Township until retirement in 1987. Harriet was as member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church of Lamberton. She was an active volunteer at Valley View Manor and within the community prior to moving to Eagan in 2013 to be closer to her daughter. Harriets unwavering faith in God and deep commitment to her family were the foundation of a life well lived. Her warm demeanor, a genuine caring for those around her and a sensor of humor, which she maintained to the end, won the hearts of many. She will be remembered as a loving wife and caring Mom who bestowed upon her children a deep feeling of being loved. She believed a Mothers job was never done. As an active grandmother she enjoyed the youthful spirit of her grandchildren and the laughter which went hand in hand with time shared with them. Harriet is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Karen Hoffrogge, of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada; a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and James Meyer of Eagan, MN; five grandchildren, Hannah and Jacob Hoffrogge of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada; Solveig, Nicholas and Jacob Meyer of Eagan, MN; brother-in-law, Charles Zimmermann of Eden Prairie, MN; sister, Bernice Thompson of Nicollet, MN; brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Margo Bode of Courtland, MN; sister, Carmen Kaesmeyer of Chicago, IL; sister and brother-in-law, Marcella and Norman Ohland of Gibbon, MN; sister and brother-in-law, Lois and Don Ditzler of Manchester, MO; brother and sister-in-law, Lyle and Lynn Bode of Courtland, MN; sister and brother-in-law, Elaine and Gene Selby of Nicollet, MN; brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Darlene Bode of Mankato, MN; sister and brother-in-law, Geraldine and Gary Schmidt of North Mankato, MN; sister and brother-in-law, Charlotte and David Zimmerman of Springfield, MN; sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Bill Osborne of St. Peter, MN; sister, Virginia Jakobe of Mankato, MN; sister-in-law Elaine Hoffrogge of Madelia, MN; and sister-in-law Dorris Hoffrogge of Mankato, MN.
