Obituary of Jonna Elizabeth Connelly

Jonna Elizabeth Connelly, 73, passed away on November 29, 2022 after a yearlong battle with glioblastoma. Jonna was born on June 19, 1949, the second of nine children of John and Alvina “Pat” Connelly. Although she was born in Southern California, her family moved to South Minneapolis when she was a baby, and Jonna always considered it home. She was bright and talented woman who excelled at writing, cooking, and sewing. Jonna loved her hometown, her family, all dogs, arguing about politics, Brandywine tomatoes, chicken tikka masala, and ice cream.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Kevin and Marc Connelly, and daughter Alexandra Houska. She is survived by daughter Margaret (Jim Pace) Houska; son Brian (Joy) Houska; sisters Michele Connelly, Jackie (Larry) Hadley, and Maureen Connelly; brothers Tim, Patric, and Mike Connelly; beloved grandchildren Agatha Pace, Judah Houska, and Mirah Houska; and many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Jonna’s children would like to thank the staff at the Glenn Minnetonka for the kindness and care they showed our mother during the last year of her life.
