Obituary of Eugene C. "Gene" Harlander

Harlander, Eugene C. “Gene,” age 90, of Brooklyn Park, passed away November 28, 2022. He left us peacefully at his home surrounded by family. Gene was born on January 10, 1932, in Holdingford, MN. Preceded in death by wife Janice “Jan” Harlander, parents Joseph and Peggy Harlander and siblings, Clinton, and Darlene “Dolly” Harlander. Gene is survived by his children, John (Sue), Christe (Steven), David (Lisa) and Cathy; grandchildren, Alyssa (Adam), Jessica, Rachelle, Kaitlyn (Andrew), Ashley (Travis), Eliza and Anton; great grandchildren, Landon, Ellie, Caden, Audrey, Jackson, and Brielle.

Gene is survived by his siblings-Delphine, Geraldine, Duane, William and Ronald, and many other relatives and friends.

Gene was an amazing father, husband, grandpa, great grandpa, and friend. He was a proud United States Air Force veteran. He dedicated his working career to Warning Lites and retired as Vice President, Estimating. He enjoyed traveling and had numerous hobbies including reading, camping, snowmobiling, fishing, creating stain glass window art, and collecting agates and seashells.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, December 18th, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm at the Cremation Society—Brooklyn Park Chapel, 7835 Brooklyn Blvd. Interment at Fort Snelling for Gene and Jan to be held at a later date. All memorials will be donated to North Memorial Hospice and Comfort Care - Donate to the North Memorial Health Foundation
