Obituary of Daniel James Ohland

Daniel James Ohland, 57, of Excelsior, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at his home in Excelsior. Born in Minnetonka, Minnesota to Jean and Harlin "Hank" Ohland, where he spent most of his life. Dan was an amazing husband, father, friend, brother and son. Even after an 18 year long battle, Dan never lost sight of having fun and enjoying every last bit of life. There are no words to describe what a wonderful man he was. He has touched so many live, it's hard to even imagine but those who have met him, can never forget him. He had a contagious laugh, smile and an outstanding ability to make light of any situation. He was known for being the "rock farmer", joke telling and an incredible amount of love for all people. Dan was extremely loving and proud of his two daughters, Alex and Alyssa, and his wife, Keelo. He is also survived by his parents, Jean and Hank Ohland, his brothers and sisters, Bill, Terryn, Bob, Brian and Susan as well as his many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. The family will be holding a celebration of life party on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 from 5:00 until 9:00pm at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, 3675 Arboretum Drive, Chaska, MN 55318. Memorial donations may be made in Dan's name to the ALS Association MN, 333 North Washington Ave, Suite 105, Minneapolis, MN 55401.
