Obituary of Galeen L. Goggins

Galeen L. Goggins, age 69, passed away peacefully November, 16, 2022 at River Falls Area Hospital with her loving family by her side. Galeen was born December 3, 1952 to Michael and Eileen (Corrigen) Goggins in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Galeen is survived by her two children; Michelle (Dennis) Goar, Joel Hubbell; grandchildren, Cory (Michelle) Schladweiler and siblings; Tim Goggins, Katherine Goggins, Patrice Goggins, Gerard Goggins, Erin Goggins, Mary Trapp and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Galeen had a servant’s heart and led with her emotions!  This could be seen in connections throughout her community.  If Galeen liked you, you were her best friend.  These everyday genuine connections were not just vital to her; they bound the community and fortified her spiritual strength. Galeen made the most mundane tasks memorable, from the bank to the grocery store, chances are you knew Galeen and she called you “sunshine”.  Her kind heart shined in her career at Independent Living.  Here she truly found her calling by assisting her clients with some of the daily living duties.  Moreover, she supported “her people” spiritually and emotionally. By connecting on a spiritual level she was truly able to support her clients continuing independence. Galeen was an active member of Faith Assembly Church and part of the prayer team and women’s bible study.  A major part of her community and family life was dedicated to staying sober and helping others battle their own addictions.  When not being one of the Lord’s servants Galeen would unwind by crafting diamond paintings, creating something unique in the kitchen or her favorite; Football! Sundays (save for church) were reserved for Football. While the Chiefs, Packers and Vikings were her favorite, it didn’t matter who was on, she was watching the game! Her family, friends and acquaintances will miss her kind heart, caring attitude, crass humor, genuineness and spiritual guidance.

A memorial service will take place Saturday, November 26th, 2022, at Faith Assembly Church in Joplin, Mo, at 4pm with dinner and fellowship to follow. Services are entrusted to Faith Assembly Church, 7211 E 32nd St, Joplin, MO 64804. Memorials may be given to Faith Assembly Church.
