Obituary of Charles J. Comeau

Charles J. Comeau, age 74, longtime resident of Duluth passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born March 31, 1943 in Lynn, Mass., to Joseph and Catherine Comeau. After graduating from high school, Chuck joined the U.S. Air Force serving in Okinawa and did his last tour with the 74th Air Defense Missile Squadron in French River. He married his wife, Barbara Kangas in 1965 and worked for the U.S. Postal Service until he retired after 30 years as a letter carrier. Chuck enjoyed playing softball, hunting, fishing and doing wood working projects. He was a member of United Northern Sportsmen, Post 71 American Legion, the Owls Club and the Elks. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Barb; many cousins in Nova Scotia, Canada and Lynn Mass. Gathering of family and friends from 9 a.m. until the 10 a.m. memorial service Wednesday, October 25th in the Cremation Society of Minnesota Chapel, 4100 Grand Ave., 218-624-5200.
