Obituary of Renee W. Ostlund

Renee E. Ostlund, of Minnetonka, MN (and formerly of Sun City West, AZ), passed away on October 22 at age 92 after a 7-year struggle with Alzheimer's. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Originally from Stanley, WI, she was born to Norwegian immigrants and her own mother tongue was Norwegian, as well. In her younger years, Renee was an energetic and creative woman who volunteered her time to many social causes and to her church. She loved music, took great pride in her Norwegian roots, and she remained "spunky and fashionable" until the end of her life.She was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd, daughter Lucia (Richter) and sister Mazie Baker. Survived by daughter Carole Maria Ostlund of St. Paul, granddaughter Jaime Richter Stary (Morgen) and great-grandson Griffin Stary of Sierra Madre, CA, son-in-law Steven Richter of VA Beach, VA, as well as several nieces & nephews, and many cousins and family members in her beloved Norway. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name online to Lutheran Social Services of MN. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
