Obituary of Victor J. Baller

Victor passed away peacefully on October 25th at the age of 92 to be with his beloved wife Leona of 66 years. Victor was born upstairs in the Meighen Store, Forestville, MN, now a historic State Park. Proudly served in the Army Air Corps during WWII, was a St. Paul fire fighter/paramedic and owned and operated an insurance contracting business for many years. Victor had a passion for flying, the outdoors, building things and spending time with his wife, family and friends. He gave selflessly to many charitable organizations, especially Dorothy Day, where he and Leona volunteered for 25 years. He is deeply missed by his children Janice (Gary) Muntean, Robert (MaryBeth), Michael (Jan), daughter-in-law Charleen (James), Judith (Terry) Grufman, Clare (Steve Robinson) McDonough, and Jonathan (Tammy Olsen); sisters Verna and Margaret; 15 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren; and many close relatives and dear friends. Victor is preceded in death by his wife Leona and son James; sister Rose and brothers Vincent, Reinhardt, and Gerald. A visitation will be held at Presentation Church, 1735 Kennard St., St. Paul, MN on Thursday, 11/2/17 at 10am followed by Mass at 11:00 am and lunch. Interment at Fort Snelling. Memorials to Presentation of BVM Church.
