Obituary of Verne L. Pittsley

Verne L. Pittsley, 76, passed away Saturday, October 28, 2017, surrounded by loved ones at St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth following complications from surgery. He is sadly missed by his wife of 54 years, Audrey(Haarsager)Pittsley, daughter Joni Tasky (husband Bill and children Cheyenne and William), daughter Renae Nicoletti (husband Peter and children Casey and Jamie). Born and raised in Brule, he was the son of Verne W. and Ruby Pittsley and had a younger brother, Paul(deceased). In his early years he traveled to North Dakota for work where he met and fell in love with his beautiful wife Audrey. They married in 1963 and started their life in Wisconsin. Verne worked as a welder/ supervisor at National Iron(Duluth) for 17 years and as welder/ foreman at Barko Hydraulics(Superior) for 8 years. He spent the last 30 years working from his home garage repairing cars and tractors. He was a brilliant mechanic with a passion for fixing things. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Brule Town Hall on November 11, 2017 from 1pm to 3pm.
