Obituary of Robert Edor Helseth

Bob, 94 years of age, lifelong resident of Mpls., passed away October 30, 2017. Survived by loving wife, Marilyn Helseth (67 years); sons Mark (Victoria) and David; grandson Andrew; and nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents Edor and Clara Helseth; brothers Ray and Earl. Bob, a loving and generous son, husband, father, and grandfather always put family first. He enjoyed working with his hands; his sons and grandson enjoyed hours of play with homemade tunnel of fun, beanie baby furniture, and Lego play table. Bob retired in 1985 from a life-long career of grocery store design and planning for several large grocery chains. Longtime and active member of Mount Olivet Lutheran church in Mpls, the Zuhrah Shrine Temple, and Minnehaha Lodge; his volunteer work included opening and closing weekends at Cathedral of the Pines Camp, building bird houses for the Mount Olivet Retreat and Conference Center, 40 years as a member of the Oriental Band. Marilyn and Bob loved the North Shore and shared great stories of raspberry picking, wearing bear bells, and trout fishing. Family gatherings always included games and good food; he was a master at grilling steaks for family birthday dinners. Private family services.
