Obituary of Allan ‘Dave’ Aust

Allan ‘Dave’ Aust Age 80, of Elk River passed away peacefully surrounded by family on November 1, 2017. He grew up in Monticello and attended Monticello High School. Upon graduation he enlisted in the US Army and proudly served two years during the Korean War. When he returned, he met and married the love of his life, Janice, during a blizzard in November 1965, and made their home in Elk River, MN. They welcomed their daughter, Mary, in 1969. Dave spent his years camping and fishing with family on North Long Lake, tending his prized gardens, golfing, playing and teaching cribbage to his family. He especially enjoyed time with his grandchildren and attending their sporting events. He was a regular with the ‘Coborn’s Coffee Club’ and the Monticello ‘Geezers’ High School friends. He was a devoted member of St. Andrew Catholic Church. Preceded in death by brothers, Harold ‘Bud’, Lyle, Robert ‘Bob’; brother-in-laws, George Esoph, George Forar, Don DeCoteau. Survived by loving wife of 52 years, Janice; daughter, Mary (Sam) Olson; grandchildren, Reid and Libby Olson; siblings, Shirley Esoph, Donna Forar, Janet (Jerome) Atzl, Grace DeCoteau, Ken Aust; sister-in-law, Rosanne Aust, and many special nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He always had a smile and will be missed by all who knew him. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, November 9, 2017 at 12:30pm at The Church of St. Andrew, 566 4th St NW, Elk River with a visitation beginning at 11:00am.
