Obituary of Howard Allen Englin

Howard Allen Englin Jr. AKA: Bud, Buddy, and Howie, 85, of South St. Paul, Minnesota, passed away peacefully at home, Monday November 20, 2017. Born in St. Paul, MN to Howard Sr. and Cecelia (Falk) Englin, he was humorous, big hearted and loved his three grandchildren very much. He served his country in the Air Force, stationed in Germany from 1949-1953, and spent his life sharing his gratitude for all who made the ultimate sacrifice to ensure our great country’s freedom. Howard's professional career was with NSP (now known as Excel Energy), retiring in 1987 as a former supervisor and senior billing analyst. During retirement, Howard was active with school age child care, golf, bowling and keeping up with his two sons. He attended yearly reunions with his group of comrades, the 603rd A.C. &W. Squadron. He was known to have a pocket full of candy for his nieces and nephews, and the guy sitting out on the driveway with a bag of puppy treats. Howard is preceded in death by his wife Dorothy (Conlin) Englin and his son, Dan Englin. He is survived by son, Dennis Englin, and three amazing grandchildren, Bennett, Abigail and Kaelynn. The family will be holding a private ceremony in honor at Fort Snelling. There will be a Celebration of Life for everyone to attend at a later date to be determined.
