Obituary of Evelyn Shelafoe

Shelafoe, Evelyn (Evie, Punky)

Age 84, passed away peacefully on September 1st, 2022.  She is preceded in death by her parents Ted Sr. and Evelyn Schmitz; brother Ted Schmitz, Jr.  She is survived by her sister Kathy (Dick), her 4 boys Bob, Rick (Cheryl), Ron (Kim), and Randy.  She was blessed with seven grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.  She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and many family friends.

Evie was born on the 10th of February, 1938.  She was a life long resident of St. Paul and grew up on the east side.  She graduated from Johnson High School in 1956.  Evie worked at Lake Elmo Inn and went on to manage Lakeside Inn for decades. She was surrounded with love by family and wonderful caregivers.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday October 15th, 1:00-4:00 pm at the 

Cremation Society of Minnesota-St. Paul Chapel
