Obituary of Vivian Irene Nelson

Vivian "Sis" Irene Nelson, 86, of Duluth, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 26, 2017 with her loved ones at her side. Vivian was born on March 28, 1931 to Edgar and Beatrice Anderson in Glyndon, Minnesota. Vivian married Ralph Nelson on July 28, 1950. They made their home in Homecroft for 64 years. Vivian worked many years at Daugherty Hardware and retired from St. Luke's OT department. Viv loved to read, knit, garden and bake. She loved her family and was a devoted wife and mother. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Richard, Edgar "Sonny" and Donald Anderson; sisters, Norma Carlson and Jeannne Grew and grandson Adam Nelson. Vivian is survived by her husband Ralph; children, Mark (Deb Holbein), Kathy (Rick) Johnson, Rick Nelson and Kim Nelson; grandchildren, Jason (Denise) Nelson, Chris (Heather) Nelson and Steven (Kelly) Johnson, Kerry Jo Johnson, Cole (Beth) Nelson, Ben Nelson, Jennifer (Brian) Prudhomme and six great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff of the Benedictine Health Center, St. Luke's Hospice and Dr. Steven Long for the care given to Vivian. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 10 A.M. until the 11 A.M. memorial service on Monday, December 4, 2017 at Family of God Lutheran Church 4097 Martin Rd, Duluth, MN 55803.
