Obituary of Fremont Butler Jones

Fremont “Monty” Butler Jones age 89 passed away Monday November 27, 2017 in Plymouth, MN. He is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Ruth Ellen Quinnett Jones of Oklahoma City, OK. He was a devoted father to his four children, Timothy Jones (Kathy), Michael Jones (Laurie), Marsha Jones, all of Plymouth MN; and Sheila Jones Clifford (David) of Lexington, KY. He adored his eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He enjoyed time with his extended family, Susan Quinnett Wiggins (Richard), Denise Parsons (Tim), Karen Stevens (Terry), Gary Quinnett all of the Oklahoma City, OK area. He and Ruth Ellen also loved spending time with her six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father Corliss Jones, his mother Mary Helen Jones, and his first loving wife Patricia Jones. Monty was born January 16, 1928 in Blue Earth County in Sterling Township, MN. He grew up and attended schools in Mankato until he joined the Navy as a Seaman, First Class. He spent many years in sales and eventually joined Motorola becoming one of their top salesmen for many years until retirement. His family and friends will always remember him as a kind and caring man who loved being at the lake cabin, fishing or spending an afternoon on the golf course with his sons and friends. He was always a gentleman to everyone he met, truly a devoted husband, father and grandfather. A special thanks to the loving staff at The Waters of Plymouth who made sure that Monty’s dignity was a priority while continually providing the best of care to him and support to his family. A Funeral Mass will be held Friday December 15th at St. Therese Catholic Church in Deephaven, MN. Visitation will begin at 10am followed by a service at 11am to celebrate his life with a lunch following.
