Obituary of Nancy Jill Doutre
Nancy Jill Peabody Doutre, 84, beloved sister, mother and nana, passed away September 20,2022 at Methodist Hospital in St Louis Park, MN.
Nancy entered this world May 28,1938 in Wolf Point, Montana. The second of four girls born to Hugh Leroy Peabody and Ruth Margaret Wahl Peabody. She grew up in the Linden Hills area in Minneapolis. Nancy graduated from St Olaf College with a bachelors degree in early childhood education.
She had a great many passions in her life: Art, Music, Dance, etc. But what she loved most in life was working with children and eventually becoming a mother. That is, until she became a nana. She was also very involved in her church and she’d always been a very spiritual person.
In the days since she’s passed away, many people have reached out with an outpouring of love for Nancy. Remembering her kindness for others. Nancy always believed “the more the merrier” and went out of her way to make sure that people felt welcome and included. She absolutely loved family get togethers.
We will always remember her distinct voice and manner of speaking and her quirky sense of humor. She spread love and laughter to everyone she met. She was truly one of a kind.
Nancy is preceded in death by her parents and sister Judith “Judy” Peabody Anderholm. She is survived by her sisters, Janis Emily Peabody and Margaret “Peggy” Peabody, her children Moe, Tara (Joan), Catherine “Cate”, Alicia and Marie, and her grandchildren Luna, Ian, Reagan, Elias and Austin.
